We are seeking a Finance Manager with a strong finance and accounting background to provide support for Selling Partner Financial Tech (SPFT), which is part of the Selling Partner Services (SPS) organization. SPS are responsible for several key elements of Amazon's flywheel: which ensure low prices for our Customers, provide a rich tool kit for our Selling Partners to work with Amazon; drive traffic and increase conversion through replenishment and promotion programs; and drive profitability and controllership initiatives to lower our cost structure. SPFT's vision is to enable every Selling Partner to thrive and grow into a global selling success. We do this by providing a financial experience with unparalleled trust which delights all Selling Partners regardless of how they interact with Amazon. We support Selling Partners (SP) and internal customers across the globe with an intuitive end-to-end financial management experience, with reliable accounting and tax solutions, and financial technology services to accurately calculate, book and bill vendor funding.
You will be the controllership leader for SPFT and have a scope that is worldwide and covers both our Retail and Seller businesses. You will be partnering with finance, accounting, and technical teams to connect dots across our entire Amazon Stores business to understand if financial trends match expectations. You will test existing controls, identify risks, and design controls that scale with the business. You will own balance sheet reporting mechanisms that connect business projects and initiatives to financial results. You will gain experience and help shape business and finance processes to drive the Amazon Retail and Seller businesses.
This role operates in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and the successful candidate must have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, which would include logical reasoning, data analytics and the presentation of alternatives. The successful candidate is required to have a knowledge of accounting principles, strong judgement, and ability to earn trust with partner teams. The individual is often required to challenge status quo, innovate and find trade-offs to move projects forward. The role requires curiosity, forward-thinking mindset, and good judgement to identify and mitigate financial reporting risks.
Key job responsibilities
Review month-end financial results and ensure that all controls are operating effectively
Develop and lead business finance balance sheet reviews
Influences strategic business decisions such as the launch of new programs and marketplaces, channel-level income and cost allocations, and accounting automation projects
Audit financial systems and processes and execute recommendations for remediating any controllership gaps
Develop and automate governance and financial controllership mechanisms to ensure the accountability, data quality and accuracy through all aspects of financial systems
Identify automation and tooling opportunities to drive efficiency and improvements in controllership and financial reporting processes
Identify and communicate key metrics, achievements, and opportunities to improve financial processes
Lead financial review meetings with cross-functional business, technical, and senior management

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan, or experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
