The Stanford Alpha Stem Cell Clinic (ASCC), part of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) Alpha Stem Cell Clinic Network, is seeking Cell & Gene Therapy Project Manager (ASA2) to oversee the implementation of new tools and resources that will be utilized at Stanford as well as partner Network sites. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team of innovative, creative, world-renowned investigators and research staff. Our research spans multiple disease areas and touches patients across California, the nation, and the world. You will have the opportunity to facilitate this exciting research while designing and implementing new processes and best practices.

The ASCC was established for the purpose of expanding existing capacities for delivering stem cell, gene therapies and other advanced treatment to patients. The Alpha Clinics Network is designed to serve as a competency hub for regenerative medicine training, clinical research, and the delivery of approved treatments. In addition, the shared vision and mission is to expand cell and gene therapies into historically underserved populations. These populations can reflect a demographic inequality or that the patient's disease itself is rare and deemed not significant for private sector investment. The role of the Cell and Gene Therapy Project Manager is to provide administrative and financial oversight of the ASCC.

The position will manage the activity of the ASCC, coordinating efforts of the various team members. Team members are based in multiple Stanford departments, so this requires adept leadership and collaborative skills. PM is responsible for ensuring objectives are met as per CIRM and will need to keep the team apprised of deadlines, grant requirements, create timelines, and communicate effectively. PM will be responsible for evaluating progress, identifying issues before they become unmanageable, and partnering with faculty to ensure compliance with CIRM requirements.

Responsibilities include:
  • maintain financial/budget documentation and prepare reports (internal and external)
  • coordinate and lead project meetings
  • maintain project communications across ASCC team, with CIRM, and with Network partners
  • proactively identify and resolve issues that arise during project implementation
  • maintain project information on dedicated box account and provide access to users as appropriate.
  • Develop Network-wide tools and resources and facilitate sharing between institutions

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working in clinical research and/or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of Stanford processes, regulations and procedures
  • Ability to produce Gantt Charts and other project management tools
  • Firm understanding of the research process including but not limited to; the development and implementation of a successful project, management of project plans, and coordinating team assignments
  • Relevant work experience at an academic institution.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated project management ability to employ integration, scope time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components.
  • Ability to balance customer expectations with project reality.
  • Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem-solving skills in a variety of situations.
  • Keen grasp of interpersonal and impact awareness
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

Project Management Certification or equivalent is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally use a telephone.
  • Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.

Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the University reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs. The pay range for this position working in the California Bay area is $116,849 - $148,275 annually.
