Purpose

The Senior Manager, Reporting & Analytic role supports the overall success for the GBM&T Compliance program by managing compliance reporting to support GBM&T Compliance Senior Vice President for his/her reporting requirements. The Senior Manager contributes to a globally aligned approach for the compliance reporting program, executing on internal policies and procedures and promoting best-in-class practices to ensure GBM&T global initiatives and regulatory programs are delivered in support of GBM&T's strategies, objectives and in compliance with governing regulations.

Accountabilities

  • Support, with minimal direction, the development, adoption, and maintenance of a globally aligned approach in GBM&T for Reporting, including the development of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and other metrics in collaboration with Enterprise Compliance, the regional Compliance teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Responsible for streamlining and automating the reporting processes within the team to reduce manual efforts and errors and allow senior leadership to derive better insights from the data.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization across GBM&T Compliance teams and lead/support automation to make it easier to do business with us.
  • Support other GBM&T Compliance Program processes with a globally aligned approach as required.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, and its Code of Conduct, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to regulatory compliance risk.

Education/Experience

  • University Degree or College Diploma - professional designation / degree such as CPA, CFA, MBA is an asset
  • 7+ years of working experience in Financial Industry, preferably in Capital Markets, and/or 1st/2nd/3rd line of defense
  • Extensive knowledge of Global Banking & Markets and Group Treasury businesses, and compliance risk management.
  • Proven experience in preparing and presenting materials for senior management committees.
  • Proven working knowledge of data management tools, and strong proficiency in automating processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel and Access) would be required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • An enquiring mind, sound judgement and strong organizational skills
