In this senior-level role, you'll bring your expertise in Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) and materials engineering to ensure the integrity, safety, and success of NASA's flight systems. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies and methods such as X-ray inspection, ultrasonic testing, and eddy current testing - and play a key role in qualifying materials and processes for spaceflight.

- Reviewing and developing advanced NDE procedures and inspection systems
- Troubleshooting NDE challenges and proposing solutions to ensure mission safety
- Preparing detailed technical reports and sharing insights at program meetings
- Supporting lab operations and audits to maintain state-of-the-art NDE capabilities
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and vendors to meet stringent NASA requirements
- Representing NASA in industry-wide materials and processing forums

What We're Looking For:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (required), plus 5-10 years of industry experience in NDE or materials engineering
- Experience with NDE procedure development, assessments, and audits
- Familiarity with industry standards, NDE systems, and engineering review processes
- Strong communication skills and ability to work seamlessly across disciplines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related desktop tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASNT Level III certification or equivalent NDE training/experience
- Background supporting aerospace or NASA NDE activities
- Understanding of materials and manufacturing methods (e.g., welding, composites, additive manufacturing)
- Familiarity with fracture control and materials compatibility for aerospace systems
