GA-EMS offers modular and scalable satellite platforms backed with a history of operational flight experience to support defense, civil, commercial, and academic mission requirements.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Space Systems and Advanced Programs, this role oversees all aspects of the programs within their portfolio. The individual will serve as the primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk and opportunity management. Additionally, they will provide oversight and direction for the unique security requirements of the Advanced Programs Directorate, specifically related to classified information and information systems up to the Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) level.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • In collaboration with strategic development, engineering and senior leadership, responsible for defining strategy and business pursuits, identifying and pursuing partnerships and teaming agreements, technology roadmaps, and developing corporate capabilities to align to key customers needs.
  • Direct all phases of the program(s) from conceptualization through completion, including acquisition, planning, and managing technical and financial performance to ensure quality, business, and financial objectives are attained.
  • Develop and coordinate new program plans or delivery methods with little precedence for coordination across distinctive products while serving multiple customers.
  • Responsible for defining and achieving Special Processing Programs revenue and profit objectives
  • Manage and provide leadership for project and program management resources responsible for successful execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for projects and programs both internally and customer funded.
  • Responsible for identifying, planning, and the management of GA-EMS Internal Research and Development (IRAD) projects aligned with Space Systems business strategy.
  • Provide senior-level customer interface for programs (prime contractor to Government customers and / or subcontractor).
  • Interact with senior management concerning matters of significance to the company. Act as primary contact for program issues.
  • Direct, influence, and coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract(s). Influence contract acquisitions, negotiations and modifications.
  • Lead the development of new business opportunities and expansion of existing business opportunities. Participate with Group management in pursuing business partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that enhance the capabilities of the Group/Company and may result in new products, programs and business opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in engineering, science or a related technical field as well as thirteen or more years of progressively complex program administration experience.
    May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Demonstrated experience or working knowledge of capability maturation, different types of sensor modalities, and multi-int fusion required.
  • Demonstrates detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of program management principles, concepts, and practice as well as comprehensive program management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance as well as clearance for special access programs.
