Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Fundamental understanding of Lean processes to resolve part and supplier constraints
- Own commits and improvement plans at PN level, leveraging order book review
- Drive execution of NPI, design changes, or transition plans
- Identify & execute action plans around PN/ Supplier constraints
- Drive raw material reviews & ensure Suppliers data integrity
- Manage data, understand enablers to drive supplier On Time Delivery, utilizing Supplier Expectations Performance Management (SEPM)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years sourcing, procurement, manufacturing or related supply chain experience) + minimum of 3 years sourcing, procurement, manufacturing or related supply chain experience
- Must be a US Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
