The Director of Practice Marketing is a new role that will be responsible for the implementation of marketing strategy focused on the firm's 80+ wealth management and specialty client practices. This will include developing deep consultative relationships with our advisory practices across the country, helping to accelerate their growth. The role will also be responsible for building out a team of integrated marketing professionals over time to partner with specialty businesses such as our corporate ventures and OCIO businesses. The role will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and work closely with marketing team channel leads as well as Cerity Partners leaders across the firm. The ideal candidate should have a profound understanding of the role marketing plays within the context of wealth management and the ability to architect and execute integrated marketing strategies aligned with firm goals.

Must have experience working with advisors or in an advisory practice.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and continuously improve the centralized suite of marketing resources for advisors (e.g. marketing collateral, content, social media, automation options, etc.)
  • Develop and advise on an innovative local marketing strategy that helps support advisor growth
  • Influence and help direct local and national marketing budgets towards the highest impact marketing, establishing measurement and ROI practices throughout
  • Develop deep, trusted, and proactive relationships with practice leaders
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day tactical operations of advisor marketing requests including prioritization, quality control, and service orientation
  • Evolve and continuously improve the advisor toolset and evaluate advisor-centric marketing vendors and platforms
  • Develop annual marketing plans for each specialty business, including campaigns, KPIs, and budgets, aligned to business goals
  • Coordinate with Marketing channel leads including digital marketing, content, and brand to allow for seamless execution of all marketing initiatives
  • Continuously measure and articulate impact and insights from omni-channel marketing campaigns and advisor efforts
  • Be an evangelist for marketing at the firm and gain consensus for marketing strategies through a highly collaborative approach and partnership mentality
  • Conceptualize, develop, and deploy a client engagement program in partnership with training and development
  • Ensure all advisor marketing is on brand and uses consistent messaging
  • Work with the merger marketing lead to help integrate newly merged practices and set them up for success
  • Partner with Sales on new and innovative approaches to drive the business
  • Ability to travel up 25%
  • Manage strategic projects with the CMO as needed


Required Qualifications
  • 10-15+ years of professional experience in financial services marketing, brand, or communications
  • Experience working with and an understanding of the mindset of wealth advisors
  • Ability to conceptualize, direct, execute, and measure strategic projects from start to finish
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills
  • Desire and ability to both lead strategy and execute tactically
  • Strong people management skills, ability to build and grow a team
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Superior presence and presentation skills, comfortable interfacing with external audiences on behalf of the firm
  • Effective collaborator with the ability to build consensus and lead by influence
  • Experience in the RIA space a plus


Compensation Range:

$165,000-$210,000
