The Technical Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing the quality and execution of fabrication and installation for projects.

Your day will look like this:
  • Directly manage the Site Supervisors and Installation Technicians
  • Participate in vetting and interviewing candidates for open positions in their direct report.
  • In collaboration with the project and design teams, participate in the preparation of studies, plans and specifications of the projects.
  • Participate in kick off meetings and post-mortem.
  • Oversee the integration and synchronization of the various technical teams involved in a project.
  • Communicate with the Design Manager and Director of Operations for issues related to each team.
  • Plan workflow with Design Manager and Director of Operations
  • Plan project assignments for each project with Project Manager. This will include assignments for shop and field work.
  • Perform the functions of a lead technician when needed. This can include (but not limited to) absences, vacation time, project shortages.
  • Plan for potential labor shortages on projects by communicating to Project Manager when and where over hire or freelance help is needed.
  • Ensure that the required quality standards as stipulated in each job's contract documents are applied.
  • Implement training and certification for team.
  • Improve processes related to project planning and execution.
  • Purchase necessary shop equipment, job site equipment, PPE, office furniture and supplies.
  • Stay abreast of new products and technologies in the AV field and other related filed(s)
  • Work with Site Supervisors to develop wiring and labeling standards.
  • Work with Design Manager to develop shop drawing standards.
  • Schedule work for Site Supervisors and Installation Technicians
  • Work with Health & Safety Manager to develop safety plan for shop and site activities.
  • Work with Director of Operations on any disciplinary issues with direct reports

Your profile:

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in audiovisual or any other relevant work experience

Experience:
  • Eight years of experience of installing of audiovisual equipment
  • Two years experience managing a team

Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of advanced practical and theoretical of the followings: Sound, lighting, control, video, and videoconference.
  • Good knowledge of Office 365 (Excel, Word)
  • Expertise on Construction Sites

Work Requirements:
  • Time will be spent in an office setting.
  • Time will be spent on construction sites.
  • Flexible work hours to support operations. Typical workweeks standard 40 hours.
  • Environment may be fast paced, dark, hot and cold
  • Travel interstate required
