Job overview and responsibilities
- Provides leadership to a team responsible for managing the operational performance of over 130 worldwide catering locations including scheduled operations, charters, performance feedback and tracking, catering policies, and procedures in all related areas.
- Provides operational support to the 5 United owned kitchens and approximately 2,700 catering employees.
- Additionally, has responsibility for the management and distribution of catering equipment, supplies, and alcoholic beverages throughout the catering network.
- For charters operations, ensure accuracy of service delivery to all clients (both internal and external) and work with internal account manager to simplify the catering process.
- This role is responsible to develop, implement and sustain the food safety management system.
- This position is also responsible for training and supervision of their direct and indirect reports, providing the oversight and resources required to ensure compliance with the established Food Safety Plan and FSMA
- Directs and leads the performance management for over 130 catering locations worldwide, including overall operational performance and food safety compliance; develops performance targets and caterer evaluation programs.
- Responsible for ensuring United's inventory of Catering Operations airline owned assets are managed and maintained in order to achieve cost and customer satisfaction targets; oversees the relationship and performance of key suppliers and distributors; ensures vendors/partners meet performance standards and takes corrective action as needed.
- Responsible for oversight and administration of United Voices program aimed to provide stakeholder feedback and drive continuous improvement.
- Develops the strategy and directs the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure safe, effective, high quality, and cost-efficient catering performance that meets divisional and organizational goals.
- Manages execution of charters catering business, develops partnerships with the United Airlines charters team as well as the internal catering account manager, ensure simplification and best practices regarding approach to execution.

Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10 years in Catering, Airline Operations, Food Manufacturing, Logistics and Distribution or other similar experience.
- 10 years in progressive leadership positions
- Knowledge of airport operations, logistics and catering operations
- Lean manufacturing experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Financial acumen
- Proven leadership skills
- Ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization and outside suppliers.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
