JOB SUMMARY

The General Ledger (GL) Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the general ledger accounting function. This includes ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The individual will also play a key role in month-end and year-end closing processes and provide valuable insights into financial performance. This position reports to the Sr Director, Accounting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Working under the Sr Director of Accounting, oversee the general ledger accounting function, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with accounting principles.
  • Complete lease analysis for non-standard and complex leases under US GAAP (ASC 842)
  • Guide the accounting for all SG&A line items, and for cash and revenue as needed
  • Review and manage monthly and year-end closing/reconciliation processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including review of journal entries, variance explanations and account reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies; provide recommendations for resolution in a timely manner
  • Complete impairment testing, from calculation to drafting of technical memos under US GAAP
  • Conduct fixed asset research for complex situations
  • Monitor and review accounting policies and verify they are in compliance with US GAAP. Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data and ensure the accuracy of financial reports, adhering to SOX principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, and operations, to ensure seamless and accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Equivalent experience is considered.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Public or General Ledger Accounting or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting software (SAP preferred).
  • Experience with non-standard leases and ASC 842.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities to successfully drive ongoing ad hoc accounting problem resolution and research projects.
  • Ability to lead, train, and mentor junior accounting staff as needed.
