Qualifications

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Graduate Degree, preferred. JD, MBA, MS in Nursing Allied Health or MHA preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of ten years health care experience with five years of professional liability claims experience, required. Medical malpractice claims experience, required.
• Licensure/Certification: P&C Adjustor licensure in appropriate state or obtain P&C Adjustor license within 1 yr of hire, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Knowledge of claims adjusting, insurance and medical malpractice defense essential. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Ability to handle stressful situations. Professional poised individual with high energy level and ability to communicate with appreciation of confidentiality needed for position. Strong verbal and written skills. Documented experience investigating professional liability claims, deposition management, mediation management, trial experience, experience with negotiating professional liability claims settlement. reserve setting and loss run management, management of outside legal counsel and approval of legal fees.
