  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Oversees the Quality Management System program for assigned hospital, in alignment with the SHS Quality and Patient Safety Management System policy and SHS metric dashboard. Through HRO principles, guides and advises departmental quality/process improvement activities as directed by system Quality and Safety priorities. Oversees the infection prevention program and coordinates onsite/virtual regulatory surveys as directed by the Chief Quality Officer. Works collaboratively with Patient Safety and Clinical Risk, Patient Experience, Quality Outcomes and Reporting, Risk Management, Infection Prevention, Utilization Review and Compliance. Leads the quality team in translating data insights into performance improvement opportunities to improve overall quality of care in alignment with the SHS metric priorities and domains.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • The site Quality Improvement team directs and advises hospital stakeholders on priority projects, in alignment with system priorities, to assess and improve the quality of patient care. The team supports the system quality and patient safety management system policy and directs efforts through the HRO principles and evidence-based quality methodologies.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's Degree in a health care related field or process engineering required. Master's degree preferred.
    • Five (5) years progressive health care and/or process improvement experience required.
    • Three (3) years leadership experience required.
    • One (1) of the following required:
      • Current unencumbered Oregon licensure and/or applicable certification/registration as an RN, Pharmacist, Medical Technologist or Imaging Professional.
      • RHIA certification through the AHIMA.
      • Two (2) years process/industrial engineering experience.
    • Direct experience in application of quality improvement methodologies required.
    • Experience and/or training in clinical information systems, word processing, data visualization and spreadsheets. (i.e. Visio, Powerpoint, Excel) required.
    • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
