The Team
The core function of the Finance team is to ensure seamless financial and accounting operations of the business. Beyond the traditional day-to-day responsibilities typical in finance and accounting, the team plays a pivotal role in providing the foundation for strategic planning across the business via the financial model. This role will touch all areas of the business and collaborate closely with leadership to drive data-driven decision-making and thoughtful optimization of our resources.
The Role
We are looking for someone to lead the Finance function who can immediately be trusted with business-critical operational activities and will also be able to dive into nuances of each function. A strong toolkit as an individual contributor willing to get their hands dirty in day to day operations with the ability to pick up new skills quickly is imperative. Direction will be ambiguous at times, so there is room for creativity, problem solving and ownership. Fundamentally, the role is dedicated to understanding our business operations and performance from a quantitative perspective and identifying areas of opportunity to improve.

What we offer:
$175,000 - $200,000 a year
The salary range for this role reflects our flexibility to hire at one of two levels, based on the candidate's qualifications and alignment with team needs.

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, and the scope of responsibilities in the role. In addition to cash compensation, all full time employees receive an equity compensation package.

Where you will make an impact:
- Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the financial model.
- Bring a data-driven approach to resource allocation across the organization.
- Help create a sophisticated understanding of unit economics to drive high ROI decision-making.
- Lead weekly business reviews and contribute to Board Meeting materials in support of the Executive team.
- Responsible for accounts payable/receivable operations and other cash-management activities.
- Oversee outside accounting and tax firms.
- Manage expense policies and execution of employee programs.
- Build clear communication and influence decision-making within groups and leadership audiences
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 5+ years of professional experience in financial roles (e.g. banking, consulting, FP&A, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Economics or something similar).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides.
- Basic proficiency in SQL or other database language.
- Experience with a data visualization tool (Looker, Tableau, Thoughtspot or something similar).
- Willingness to embrace unstructured environments and problems.
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience preparing and presenting information to key decision-makers
Nice-to-haves:
- High index on "hustle and grit" attributes.
- Startup experience.
- Accounting experience, degree, CPA.
- Experience with Python, R, or VBA.
- Experience with company-wide planning exercises and Board presentations
