Base Pay Range:
$90,500 - $105,000

As a Sr. Employee Relations Specialist, your essential job responsibilities will include the following:

  • Responsible for establishing trusted relationships with business leaders and their teams, lead department and organizational changes which are reflective of Dealer Tire's Core Values & Guiding Principles and ensure all Human Resource policies and practices are aligned with the business needs.
  • Developing, maintaining, communicating and providing interpretation of policies and procedures to align with Dealer Tire values.
  • Responsible for ensuring that knowledge of state and federal laws is current and incorporated into policies, procedures, training and consulting.
  • Conducting associate investigations, documentation creation, and providing recommendations based on DT policy and practice
  • Create strategies to resolve Associate issues and minimize business impact through coaching, educating and consulting
  • Advise and influence all levels of leadership regarding critical and complex employee relations matters
  • Developing and managing the employee relations budget and partnering with the Manager of Employee Relations.
  • Representing the interests of associates and the Company in accordance with Company policies and governmental laws and regulations.
  • Drive ER functional initiatives (e.g. SOP standardization, Positive Employee Relations, Leadership Development, etc.), aligning Employee Relations and business strategies.
  • Maintaining relationship with Dealer Tire labor law attorney and consulting with attorney on legal issues when necessary.
  • Interpret and advice upon new or changing employment law and impact to DT policies
  • Primary decision maker on background checks; pre-hire, bi-annual and ongoing MVR reports; pre-hire, post-accident, random and reasonable suspicion drug test results in accordance with state and federal laws.
  • Accountable for identifying Employee Relations trends within a business unit and collaborate with HR partners to identify necessary policy or process modifications.
  • Collaborate and participate as a project team member with HR peers on cross functional people related projects
  • Providing employee relations field support to Dealer Tire associates and managers at all locations, traveling when necessary.
  • Leading and assisting in employee relations driven projects and other HR areas as applicable.
  • Acting as steward for Guiding Principles and Core Values.
  • Managing vendor relationships as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 7 years HR experience, minimum of 5 years' experience with employee relations or similar HR position.
  • Some global human resources experience preferred.
  • Experience in a position with a high degree of interpersonal interaction in person and over the phone.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expected to exhibit adaptability, flexibility, self-control and maturity in work and behavior.
  • Exhibits calm responsiveness to emergency or stressful situations and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Customer-focused, well organized, able to organize people, paper, time and priorities.
  • Must possess considerable knowledge of management-employee relations, the principles, practices, and procedures of Human Resources Management.
  • Must be able to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action.
  • Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Intermediate PC skills, Microsoft Office suite.
