Strategic Sourcing Supervisor
Job Overview:
THIS IS A ONE YEAR TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT
The Supervisor of Strategic Sourcing is a seasoned professional who plans, implements and executes the sourcing strategy for the university and is directly responsible for all sourcing and procurement related functions. This position specializes in unique commodities requiring specific knowledge and experience. This position will serve as the liaison between the deployed offices and the core management team and will supervise the deployed offices on campus in such a way as to communicate, train, supervise, and ensure they are following the directives of the management team. This position also has the responsibility to oversee the critical operations of the organization.

What you'll do in this position:
- Procurement of goods and services
- Commodity management
- Communicate, train, supervise, and ensure the deployed offices are following the directives of the management team
- Results measurement
- Migration of customer base to electronic format
What qualifies you for this role:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in supply chain management or a related field of study, plus 2 years' experience in a supply management setting OR a minimum of 6 years' experience in a supply management setting, if no Bachelor's degree
- Experience in managing supplier and manufacturer relationships
- E-sourcing experience
Required:
- Well-developed knowledge of specialty sourcing strategies and trends by product category
- Formally developed negotiation skills with verifiable experience
- Proven ability to influence business decisions in the interest of safety and risk mitigation
- Expert level of written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of procurement principles, processes and price/cost methodology
- Spend analysis

Preferred:
- Contract management experience including draft and execution
