SCOPE:

The Senior Vice President, Financial Reporting oversees the accounting function across the organization and is primarily responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of accounting function and financial reporting. The SVP, Reporting will be responsible for managing the personnel within the Accounting Department.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Financial Reporting and Accounting Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing policy and practices consistent with GAAP, which includes analyzing and determining the correct accounting treatment for new accounting pronouncements and new bank initiatives and documenting the same.
  • Responsible for implementing financial reporting controls and process improvements, supporting financial reporting regulatory change initiatives, modification of financial reporting processes, and remediation of any issues identified.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies, SEC requirements, and applicable tax laws.
  • Responsible for implementing financial reporting rules and regulations affecting public companies and bank holding companies.
  • Preparation of management and regulatory reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulators, as well as tax filings.
  • Assists with and facilitates external audits and reviews of the consolidated financial statements with respect to financial reporting items.
  • Ensures activities are SOX compliant regarding the Company's SOX program and requirements.
  • Ensures the accurate and timely preparation of all internal financial reports including monthly and quarterly reports to the Board of Directors and its committees.
  • Works closely with several areas of the Bank in support of financial reporting deliverables.
  • Performance of shareholder accounting and relationship responsibilities.
  • Provides leadership and opportunities for professional growth and development for the team.


Supervision Responsibilities:
  • The Senior VP, Financial Reporting will supervise and mentor the employees in the Accounting Department. The Senior VP, Financial Reporting will also work closely with the other financial department staff.
  • Coordination of financial training for accounting and financial reporting staff, along with others requiring financial training.

EDUCATIONS AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
  • P.A. certificate
  • 12+ years related accounting/auditing experience, including 7+ years of public accounting experience, including work with financial institutions.
  • Must be able to work under stress, handle difficult situations, and work with deadlines.
  • Position requires the ability to work before or after normal business hours, including Saturdays, to meet deadlines and attend various meetings.
