General Description:
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for contributing to the financial operations of the firm. This role will support the firm's financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities, ensuring effective financial management and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Analyze financial data and trends to provide actionable insights to management.
- Work independently to develop financial models, forecast scenarios, and provide actionable insights.
- Analyze complex data sets, support decision-making, and collaborate with senior leadership without requiring frequent oversight.
- Reconciliations & Accuracy: Assist with the reconciliation of financial data and ensure consistency and accuracy across the dashboard and other reporting tools.
- Reporting Documentation: Develop clear, insightful, and well-organized reporting documentation to ensure transparency and understanding of financial data across all stakeholders.
- Compliance & Internal Controls: Assist in ensuring compliance with internal financial controls and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
- Ad-hoc support: Assist Finance/Accounting management with special projects. Assist with annual issues as necessary.
Required Skills:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, resourceful, and reliable.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, advanced data modeling).
- Possess the ability to manage larger datasets and complex reports with minimal supervision.
- Possess independent problem-solving and data analysis skills.
Required Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Data and Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
- 5+ years of professional working experience (preferably within a law firm or professional services).
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently prioritize tasks.
Preferred Qualifications & Education:
- Experience within a law firm or professional services preferred.
- Familiarity with SQL, editing or creating Excel Macros, power BI, DAX Queries and database structure.
- CPA and/or advanced degree, knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) are preferred.
- Familiarity with financial software (e.g., Aderant, Elite, or similar financial systems) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.
