Job Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY
The Controller is responsible for all the financial activities of the division. This includes budgeting, analyzing, and reporting to management the financial status of the company, implementing systems which safeguard the company's assets and maintaining the integrity of the trial balance. The Controller must have extensive knowledge of various work environments including manufacturing, job costing, engineering, and sales.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education - Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Education - Preferred: Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Years of Experience: Minimum five to seven (5-7) years of related experience required
Supervisory Experience: Minimum three to five (3-5) years of related experience required
Licenses and Certifications: CPA License or CMA Certification, preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Follows the principals of the Magna Employee's Charter and promotes the Open Door Policy. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, training employees through planning, assigning, and directing work; as well as appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; coaching and mentoring.

Required to follow health, safety and environmental regulations specified in the Employee Handbook as well as any rules or standards otherwise specified by government regulations and/or government agencies. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, and use hands to keyboard, handle, grasp, and touch. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and have adequate mobility to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

- Five years prior relevant experience, including ERP system experience, in a Manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience supervising the processing of payroll with ADP or similar outsourced payroll provider.
Other Skills/Experience -Preferred:
- SAP experience, preferred
- Prior experience with Hyperion reporting, preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on necessary actions.
- Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Maintain financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintain financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Initiate collections on past-due accounts.
- Lead a team of individuals to successfully coordinate the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of business software solutions.
- Manage accounting functions so the transactions are recorded properly, timely and in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis as well as supplemental analysis and reporting.
- Report results of operation by preparing income statements, balance sheets, and various supporting statements to local, regional, and corporate management.
- Maintain fixed asset listing and reconcile to general ledger.
- Compile year end controllers model file to support external audit function; provide additional information to auditor as needed.
- Monitor sales and cost of sales to ensure accurate reporting of contribution margins.
- Develop, implement, and monitor systems to maintain an adequate and effective system of internal controls to ensure compliance with Magna internal controls.
- Complete regulatory filing for government programs.
- Maintain general ledger chart of accounts.
- Evaluate current processes and propose improvements to increase efficiencies.
- Aid on special projects as requested by Global Director and/or corporate office.
- Maintain cost center structure, as well as performing management reporting to cost center owners on a monthly basis including variance analysis of actual vs. budget/forecast.
- Prepare seven-year business plan on annual basis.
- Prepare quarterly forecasts.
- Work alongside management teams to control costs.
- Maintain capital system (MCS).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Act with honesty and integrity, and make ethical business choices in accordance with Magna's Compliance Policies and Procedures.
