POSITION SUMMARY

Coordinates and managers models from design and trade partners to put into various software platforms. Establishes project level BIM schedule, file transfer protocol and model standards and expectations. Reviews models for major changes, errors and omissions. Identifies conflicts , incomplete, or ambiguous design information.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pursuits

• Assists VDC Marketing Liaison as needed in development of material for interviews and presentations.

Preconstruction

• Coordinates and manages models from design and trade partners to put into various software platforms.
• Establishes project level BIM schedule, file transfer protocol and model standards/expectations.
• Reviews models for major changes, errors and omissions and identifies conflicts, incomplete, or ambiguous design information.

Scheduling and Virtual Mockups

• Links the construction schedule to the model for sequencing and constructability reviews for presentations, project development and construction needs.
• Creates virtual mockup models to illustrate constructability, means and methods, and sequences of work.

Clash Detection

• Assists with clash detection on assigned projects including design and trade model collection, clash detective setup, and clash view creation and organization.

Laser Scanning

• Performs laser scanning in field and processing of data for use and analysis.

Reality Aerial Capture

• Certified to fly drones for reality capture of jobsite conditions, processing of data, and performing analysis to project teams.

Reality Interior Capture

• Utilizes 360 cameras for reality capture of jobsite conditions, processing of data, and performing analysis to project teams.

Facilities Management

• Links and embeds information into models during construction for project closeout.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements before going into job)

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in VDC or 5+ years of experience in preconstruction, construction operations, or similar AEC role.
• Knowledge of VDC Services including preconstruction integrations, field applications, reality capture, and emerging technologies.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Autodesk, Navisworks, Revit and AutoCAD, and Trimble SketchUp.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position requires work in an office environment.
