POSITION SUMMARY
Information Technology (IT) at Beacon EmbeddedWorks is where business, R&D, manufacturing and technology integrate to create a competitive advantage for Beacon. Our IT professionals are well-rounded, experienced team members who apply IT mastery to deliver game-changing, technology-driven business models and capabilities.
From Day 1, you'll be trusted to dive right in, take the lead, use your initiative, and help make everyday activities easier. And you'll do this in creative workspaces where new ideas flourish and where your technical mastery is recognized and rewarded. The incumbent will lead all IT and ensure that the IT Masterplan complements the businesses processes required to achieve short- and long-term goals.
Like most IT teams, we handle a mixture of break/fix and project work. This position will lead IT infrastructure, IT Software Systems, and IT Support. We expect the Manager to spend about 50% of their time on team leadership and 50% on hands-on projects, triage and troubleshooting. Candidates should be comfortable interacting with staff at all levels of technical expertise. Because our team is fairly small, all IT staff provide some end-user technical support.
This role will be expected to be physically present on site, consistent with other business leaders.

- Oversee successful deployment, integration, and day-to-day operations of ERP, CRM, Microsoft 365, and future core systems-focusing on continuous improvement in system performance and reliability.
- Manage IT infrastructure (network, servers, security), ensuring systems remain resilient, scalable, and positioned for growth.
- Demonstrates working knowledge and process acumen in functional areas supported by this role which include manufacturing, product/production quality, engineering processes for new product development and engineering change management, and environmental health and safety.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and support of advanced solutions, such as Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), to enable flexible and scalable operations.
- Explore and champion new IT capabilities-e.g., data analytics platforms, connected factory solutions, and digital collaboration tools-that create a competitive edge for the business.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to build a robust digital ecosystem that supports product development, operations excellence, and customer satisfaction.
- Regularly assess current systems and processes, identifying gaps and opportunities for efficiency gains or innovation.
- Stay ahead of industry trends to recommend strategic pivots in technology investment or policy.
- Engage with external partners and industry networks to bring leading-edge knowledge and best practices into Beacon.
- Establish metrics and KPIs for technology initiatives, tracking how each project contributes to Beacon's broader growth and innovation goals.
- Develop financial models and ROI analyses to evaluate, prioritize, and communicate project roadmaps and investments to senior leadership.
- Identifies and escalates issues to senior leaders after attempting to resolve issues directly.

Job Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field or equivalent experience required
- Experience: Strongly prefer 10+ years of IT leadership experience with 5 years supporting manufacturing-related processes and systems but will consider relevant process and systems leadership experience from the business/Mfg side in lieu of direct IT experience
- Experience managing an MS Windows AD environment, using MS365 and hybrid solutions
- Strongly prefer deep infrastructure background and IT Systems experience in a manufacturing context
- Experience working within Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
- Proven experience building relationships and communicating with business stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Excellent verbal and written skills to articulate solution options and recommendations

- This is a full-time, on-site position
- Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm, but does allow for some flexibility
