Senior Manager, Business Operations, Acute Care
The Senior Manager, Business Operations, Acute Care, under the direction of the Sr. Director, Continuum, and in partnership with physician leaders and in collaboration with health plan partners, manages or oversees business operations and strategic initiatives for Hospital Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Care Without Delay departments. Business operations include support for department leadership in areas such as meeting management, budget and FTE management, new provider onboarding, schedule management, data and analytic requests, business case development, operational issue management and general administrative support. The manager will also be responsible for identifying areas of opportunity for improvement and overseeing key strategic initiatives to achieve strategic and operating goals.
Management of Staff
The senior manager will manage the following positions:
a.Practice Management Coordinator, Hospital & Care Without Delay
b.Business Operations Manager, Acute Care
Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions
1.Collaborates with physician leaders to develop, implement, and monitor annual goals and strategic initiatives for both Hospital Medicine, and CWD Departments.
2.Provides project management and leadership of strategic initiatives, working with physician partners to drive execution and project performance, assist with the development of work approaches/plans, team structure, analysis plans, and communication plans. Partner with physician leaders in researching, consulting, and implementing Care Without Delay initiatives.
3.Provides oversight and guidance to the Business Ops Manager for Acute Care related to the Emergency Medicine and Clinical Decision Unit teams.
4.Manages ongoing business operations support to department leaders, including the following:
a.Manage leadership, departmental, and team meetings
b.Develop and manage both FTE and non-payroll expense budgets and related processes
c.Support new provider onboarding needs
d.Partner with Access Coordinator to develop physician schedules, ensuring the timely release of accurate schedules. Partner with Hospital leadership to make schedule changes post-release, ensuring adequate clinical coverage
e.Partners with TSPMG reporting resources to obtain needed performance reports for physician level and leadership review. Utilizes strong analytical and communications skills to facilitate physician leadership's understanding of data to make appropriate decisions and changes
f.Develop business cases to support departmental needs
g.In collaboration with physician leaders, identifies operational inefficiencies and leads workgroups to address issues and achieve planned outcomes.
h. Ensure leaders are provided general administrative support, including meeting scheduling, food orders, coat orders, etc.

Minimum Education
- Master of Business Administration in marketing, strategy, health care administration and/or other related areas
Preferred Education
- Master of Business Administration in marketing, strategy, health care administration and/or other related areas
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications
- 5-7 years relevant experience
- Proficient in Performance Improvement methodologies and statistical analysis
- Understanding of CPT and ICD10 coding
- Proven track record of achieving objectives through motivating and leading teams from a position of influence
- Ability to establish positive, professional relationships with senior leadership and management team members
- Excellent demonstrated use of quantitative reports and analysis
- Analytical skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications or similar applications in order to analyze large volumes of information.
- Proficient with the use of Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
- Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as strategic and systems thinking capability
- Demonstrate proven track record of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
- 8 years of consulting or similar experience within the healthcare industry.
Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the insurance industry and HMO regulations, including State and Federal laws.
- Work experience in large multi-specialty medical group business practices.
- Previous consulting experience.
