Job Title: Process Engineer

Salary Range: $88,000 - $110,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility

Summary: Work independently and as part of a team in researching new formulations, chemistries, and processes for polymeric materials in all golf ball layers, with a primary focus on rubber chemistries.

Responsibilities:
  • Within identified projects, conduct experiments to research and/or evaluate new or improved rubber/elastomer chemistries intended to result in improved golf ball performance.
  • Support business initiatives to improve core and ball molding processes.
  • Participate in process development/continuous improvement efforts relating to golf ball manufacturing.
  • Analyze and present data to support implementation of new processes in R&D and manufacturing.
  • Pursue patent opportunities related to process development, product development, new constructions, and/or decorations.

Qualifications:
  • BS in Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, or appropriately related field required.
  • Preference given for advanced degrees and/or additional related coursework.
  • Five (5) years of process development, manufacturing, or polymer chemistry experience required. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Familiarity with the game of golf is preferred.
  • Must pass Health Services screening, including accurate color vision. Must not be adversely affected by chemicals in the laboratory, golf ball manufacturing or golf course environment. Must be capable of lifting 40 lbs and be able to travel locally daily.
  • Must be familiar with Acushnet Company Safety Policies and Practice. Must be familiar with Acushnet Company Hazardous Waste Compliance Policies and Practice.
