Noble is hiring for a Senior Electrical Engineer in our corporate office. Review all electrical, power and control system design drawings and studies for accuracy and compliance to specifications and completeness in the SOR. Interpret SOR to the Design House. Communicate any Design House non-compliance or design issues to Company in-house engineering management for resolution

- Review all electrical, power and control system design drawings and studies for accuracy and compli-ance to specifications and completeness in the SOR, and that these requirements are met or ex-ceeded.
- Monitor/direct Design House progress in the Electrical Engineering discipline as it applies to the as-signed Design areas to ensure the Design House is in compliance with Project Quality Management precepts.
- Direct/perform design and associated problem analysis work on electrical systems.
- Evaluate/inspect overhauled electrical equipment.
- Perform new equipment evaluation/construction/installation.
- Manage or act as Project Lead in rig construction, re-fitting, re-activations and repair to existing equipment, as assigned.
- Make recommendations for additional rig work.
- Recommend both vendors and consulting personnel for projects.
- Assist Project and Construction Managers with projects, as needed.
- Assist Division Management on division related electrical projects, as required.
- Serve on various IADC committees and other professional society committees as directed.
- Develop/ensure quality standards/inspections and certification (includes certification documentation).
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and repairs to electrical equipment, as directed.
- Develop, write or review purchase orders for electrical equipment as assigned.
- Assist in development of AFEs and/or assist with detail writing for contract bids.
- Provide recommendations regarding specific concerns raised by management.
- Meet with outside vendors to discuss equipment design and manufacture.
- Keep abreast of equipment costs and obtain equipment quotes, as required.
- Obtain and maintain knowledge of relevant Rules, Regulations and Standards within the key areas.
- Participate in maintaining specification up to standards and developments within the industry. Obtain and maintain knowledge of relevant Rules, Regulations and Standards within the key areas.
- Ensure that in all matters, prior to decision, an economic and businesslike assessment is made so that the project is executed with the utmost efficiency and the best economical result for lifetime cost.
- Participate as directed in courses in order to maintain/develop personal and technical knowledge in order to perform the duty in the department.
- Planning, prioritizing and supervising the day-to-day activities of departmental personnel.
- Seeking out and monitoring the relevant training, general or specialized, and developing opportuni-ties for departmental personnel to succeed.
- Mentor and guide discipline engineers - internal and consultants.
- Provide assistance to Marketing for future bids.
- Obtain product information from vendors, as required.
- Travel offshore for rig surveys.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 8 years' related experience.
- Must have 8 years of experience in the design application and field engineering of major electrical systems in the energy industry.
- Must have experience in/with application, design and maintenance of drilling rig electrical and mechanical equipment and systems, control and instrumentation systems, Classification Society Rules (ABS, DNV, BV) relating to machinery and electrical systems, rules related to industry application of societies rules, such as the IEEE/NEC/IEC/ANSI/ISA/API/ASME, and machine shop techniques and procedures.
