Job Description
We are looking for a Gas Analyst to help strengthen our trading expertise in the North American energy markets. This position will partner directly with our energy traders to help drive actionable trading strategies. The successful candidate will be a demonstrated problem solver capable of working with large data sets and analytical software to arrive at relevant commercial solutions.
The candidate will perform fundamental analyses of the natural gas markets and run simulation models to assist the trading team in developing trade ideas for North American gas markets.
Responsibilities:
Our teams use Python as our primary programming language, PostgreSQL for our databases and Microsoft Azure for our cloud computing services.

Job Description
We are looking for a Gas Analyst to help strengthen our trading expertise in the North American energy markets. The candidate will perform fundamental analyses of the natural gas markets and run simulation models to assist the trading team in developing trade ideas for North American gas markets.
Responsibilities:
- Build supply and demand models to perform fundamental analysis of the North American gas market
- Monitor and communicate the daily changes in natural gas fundamentals with power and gas traders
- Model weekly EIA storage estimates and season ending storage balances with regular updating based on weather forecast changes and updated supply and demand fundamentals
- Develop predictive forecasting models using various analytical methods to anticipate impacts on regional gas consumption
- Develop tools and processes to standardize, improve and automate existing analysis, and expand the current reach of gas analytics
- Perform ad hoc project work in support of the gas trading effort

Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Engineering or Science
- Experience with the physical modelling and associated datasets of natural gas markets
- Strong database, spreadsheet, and programming skills (Python)
- Familiarity with North American natural gas and electricity markets
- Ability to communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and present ideas and data in a clear, concise manner
- Minimum of five years of experience as a gas fundamental analyst

- Demonstrated energy analyst and analytical experience
