As a Manufacturing Engineer at our Unison facility in Jacksonville, FL, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering tasks related to the manufacturing process, specifically focusing on igniter plugs and the NPI/NTI process. You will ensure the highest quality of work while operating under direct supervision and adhering to prescribed work instructions and system checks. Your responsibilities will include executing tasks within a well-defined operational framework, following a step-by-step sequence of standard procedures to achieve successful results. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will be essential in maintaining our high standards and contributing to our team's success.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products and technologies from bid and proposal through hand-off to production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design, Quality, and Supply Chain, to ensure manufacturability and quality of new products.
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure safety and quality.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new manufacturing technologies and processes.
  • Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, etc. in support of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Utilize Lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and lead manufacturing reviews to provide feedback on manufacturability and process improvements.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action activities for manufacturing issues.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing).


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering role.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control principles, and Lean manufacturing principles and tools such as Kaizen, Standard Work, and Hoshin Kanri.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
