Description
Aurora's Software Solutions team is building the global investment analytics platform for the energy transition. Widely adopted by leading energy asset owners, operators, developers, and investors, the platform changes the way that energy market analytics are performed and delivered. To best enable the user experience, both through product development and analysis delivery, Aurora is developing a global technical Customer Success team that provides the critical end-to-end interface between the underlying model development and the end user.
We are currently looking for a motivated (Senior) Power Markets Analyst to join the team in Austin, to support the release of Chronos, Aurora's battery valuation software, across Texas and California. This role sits cross-functionally between the Advisory, Product, Research, and Commercial teams at Aurora, becoming a subject matter expert on battery markets and informing strategic product decisions across the business.
The successful candidate will combine nodal power markets knowledge with keen analytical ability, and a talent for client-facing interactions. They will be a fast learner who excels in a highly collaborative role, be able to navigate the complexities of power market forecasting software, and be able to articulate these complex results to clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Empower leading developers, utilities, and funds across the power sector to deploy capital to BESS, by integrating Chronos into their strategic investment decisions
- Collaborate with Aurora's ERCOT & CAISO Advisory teams to perform feature-bridging analyses for client projects, enabling access to pre-release features and novel insights
- Provide support on client transactions, using Chronos to perform nodal, site-specific battery valuations
- Host specialized trainings to guide key clients/stakeholders to create and own their library of site-specific valuations, and to derive ongoing insights from the results
- Help to shape Product development roadmaps from key customer insights
- Collaborate with internal Research, Modelling, and Product teams as you assist in troubleshooting client software question
What we are looking for
Required attributes:
- At least 1 year of professional experience in an analytical and knowledge-driven role
- Strong analytical capabilities in engineering, business, economics, or similar
- Results-driven, with a high degree of persistence in reaching goals and a hands-on approach to ensuring targets are achieved
- Strong communication skills with confidence in client-facing situations
- Strong team player, with a track record of success in team environments
Desirable attributes:
- ERCOT and/or CAISO power market experience (or other US ISO market experience)
- Professional exposure to energy and power markets
- Experience in a client-facing role
