Idaho Power - located in vibrant Boise, Idaho - is looking for a Geospatial Analyst or Senior to join our Information Technology team. It's an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. While this position is based at Idaho Power's downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.
What does a Geospatial Analyst or Senior do for us?
This individual will support the geospatial information needs of company business processes. They apply geospatial and computing technologies to solve problems and facilitate decisions, in support of internal customer projects. They also apply technical Geographic Information System (GIS) knowledge and expertise in the design, development, management, analysis, integration, and administration of geospatial and relational database systems. They manage geospatial data to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of enterprise information system components. Will apply Enterprise GIS technology to create web-based applications consuming enterprise and project geospatial data to support business decisions and workflows.

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
Knowledge of:
- Geography, spatial analysis, and remote sensing
- Application and best practices of Esri GIS software
- Requirements management from planning through execution
- Enterprise and cloud computing systems, including the interrelationships between components such as servers, storage devices, networks, desktop computers, and mobile devices
Preferred:
- Requirements management and business case development
- Digital image and LiDAR data processing Calcite and JavaScript
Skills in:
- ArcGIS Pro, Arc Catalog, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, and Survey123 Providing GIS project-level support and troubleshooting
- Effectively communicating with internal customers to assess and fulfill GIS support needs
- Using GIS tools to design, develop, document, and analyze spatial data Integrating spatial and non-spatial data for enhancing decision-making
- Querying, cleaning, and analyzing data using Python, SQL, and Excel
Preferred:
- Business case development Developing and tracking project requirements
- Managing application release cycles and versioning
- Python, C#, and Arcade for geospatial automation and scripting
- Working with ArcGIS, GeoEvent Server, and ArcGIS Image Server
Ability to:
- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Interact effectively with other employees regarding GIS issues
- Understand and carry out complex written and verbal instructions
- Adapt readily to new situations
- Work in a team environment under moderate supervision
- Troubleshoot problems with computer hardware and software
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Geospatial Analyst:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or closely related field
OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred:
- College course work specific to ArcGIS, ArcGIS Enterprise, and other Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) software
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in the application of GIS technology, including a minimum of 2 years of experience with ArcGIS software
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience in managing GIS projects and release cycles
- Demonstrated experience in developing centrally managed GIS applications, particularly as they related to ESRI software ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps and Survey 123
- Experience creating Power BI dashboards and reports
Senior Geospatial Analyst:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or closely related field
OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or closely related field
- College coursework specific to ArcGIS, ArcGIS Enterprise, and other Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) software
Experience:
- 6 years of experience in the application of GIS technology, including a minimum of 5 years of experience with ArcGIS software
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience using ArcGIS, and other ESRI software
- Demonstrated experience in managing GIS projects from business case development to implementation
