Description:
Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures.
Utilizes high frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels for the diagnosis of disease.
Prepares exam room and obtains informed consent.
Requests an accurate clinical history as necessary for the exam.
Reviews patient history and determines proper selection of protocols.
Explains the method of examination and positions the patient.
Assesses the patient's status and needs.
Completes appropriate diagnostic techniques/tests to ascertain the patient's on-going condition.
Performs the necessary interventions.
Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered.
Ensures quality images.
Coordinates the preparation of images/exams and needed documentation for physician partners.
Documents and communicates patient-related information thoroughly and accurately.
Informs patients of physician's instructions or caregiver's observations and concerns.
Provides appropriate care considering observations and concerns.
Meets the needs of the patient, family, and multi-disciplinary team through effective communication, coordination, and documentation.
Ensures safety, care, courtesy, and efficiency.
Ensures safe and effective handoff between shifts by communicating clearly with the oncoming shift.
Monitors equipment reliability and safety.
Reports issues and arranges for repairs or service.
Orders and stocks supplies.
Cleans rooms and equipment to maintain the work environment.
Transports patients as needed.
Actively participates in quality initiatives, including patient satisfaction, patient care, and workflow.
Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the institution and abides by service behavior standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
