Job Description:

We are seeking a highly collaborative and data driven, passionate, and self-motivated individual to join our Data, Digital & Analytics team. This position is responsible for driving Medical Analytics & Insights for the North America brands across the North American portfolio - Oncology, Rare Diseases & Neuroscience.

This role is instrumental in shaping the roadmap, strategy, and execution of analytics initiatives that enable data-driven decision-making for Medical insights. He/She will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the data strategy, commercial analytics, and medical leadership teams, leveraging expertise to extract insights from medical data, design innovative analytics and reporting capabilities, and contribute to achieving the strategic objectives of the Medical function.

Note that this role is based at our Cambridge, MA office and is not a remote position.

Main Responsibilities & Job Functions
  • Define and drive the North America Medical data, analytics and reporting strategy aligned with the broader organizational objectives.
  • Develop a robust roadmap for delivering actionable insights and analytics capabilities
  • Leverage advanced analytics techniques to interpret complex medical datasets, transforming data into strategic insights that align with Medical objectives.
  • Design, develop, and deliver dashboards, reports aligned to KPIs that effectively communicate actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Enable and maintain Medical KPIs & key analytics processes within the IPSEN analytics platforms
  • Partner with Medical Affairs, including HEOR, Global Medical Affairs and other internal teams to identify and define data-driven strategies and business needs
  • Work closely with the broader DDA COE team to integrate medical data with other organizational insights.
  • Serve as the analytics expert for Medical, ensuring compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance on medical-related data sets, including understanding nuances, limitations, and opportunities for insight generation.
  • Oversee the implementation of analytics solutions, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with Medical needs.
  • Drive data initiatives to demonstrate impact and enhance understanding and engagement with analytics outputs.
  • Define and implement frameworks to measure the impact of Medical initiatives using data.
  • Continuously refine KPIs and reporting strategies to improve tactical and strategic decision-making


Knowledge, Abilities & Experience

  • BA/BS in a relevant field is required; MS or MBA is preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in analytics, reporting, or medically-focused data science roles within pharmaceutical or biotech
  • Proven track record of supporting Medical Affairs or related functions with data-driven insights and reporting.
  • Expertise in medical-related data sets (e.g., real-world evidence, clinical trial data, EMR/EHR, medical information data, medical engagement data).
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements related to data usage and reporting.
  • Experience in designing and tracking Medical KPIs.
  • Ability to lead and influence without direct authority, driving cross-functional collaboration and alignment.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in translating complex data to insightful messages for senior leadership decision making
  • Strong collaborative mindset and experience in working in matrixed organization


Key Technical Competencies Required
  • Advanced understanding of data storytelling principles, translating analytics into compelling narratives
  • Familiarity with analytics methodologies including predictive modeling, descriptive statistics, and advanced data mining
  • Proficiency in data and analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, R, Python, SQL)
  • Significant experience with CRM and data management platforms commonly used in pharma, such as Veeva, IQVIA, Symphony, etc.


The annual base salary range for this position is $212,000 - $260,000.

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
