How You'll Make a Difference

As a Principal Scientist on our team, you'll lead and drive translational bioinformatics strategy and data science efforts across discovery and clinical programs. We are looking for exceptional candidates with deep analytical expertise and strategic thinking abilities who can effectively partner with cross-functional teams, lead data science components of translational plans, and communicate scientific insights to influence program direction.

The "Fine Print" - What You'll Do
  • Lead the design and execution of bioinformatics strategies to support biomarker discovery, patient stratification, and translational research across early and late-stage programs.
  • Drive integrative analysis of high-dimensional, multi-modal datasets including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, imaging, and clinical endpoints.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to biomarker leads, clinical scientists, and therapeutic teams, proactively identifying data-driven opportunities and shaping project direction.
  • Develop and manage workflows for raw NGS data (e.g., scRNA-seq, RNA-seq, exome) and clinical datasets, ensuring data is analysis-ready and integrated with relevant covariates.
  • Apply modern statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI methods to uncover actionable insights and support key program decisions.
  • Work cross-functionally with experimental and clinical teams to design and implement translational studies, including statistical analysis plans and study population criteria.
  • Analyze data and interpret results from clinical trials and of data from non-trial sources to facilitate program-level decision making.
  • Collaborate with Biometrics on the programming of tables, figures and listings to support decision making and for regulatory reporting.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams to define requirements for infrastructure (e.g., AWS cloud, pipelines, LIMS) and ensure seamless data flow and reproducibility.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings clearly to diverse audiences, including technical peers, leadership, and external partners.
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with experimental scientists, internal and external stakeholders, including Research, Clinical and Regulatory teams to support multidisciplinary projects.

Skills and Experience We Look For
  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related field, with 8+ years of experience, including at least 3 years in biotech/pharma translational or clinical research.
  • Demonstrated leadership in designing and owning bioinformatics strategies that impact biomarker or clinical development.
  • Deep expertise in classical and modern statistical methods, including regression modeling, feature selection, survival analysis, and multi-variable modeling in clinical datasets.
  • Proficiency in modern ML/AI techniques (e.g., random forests, XGBoost, SVM, deep learning) and their application to high-dimensional biological or clinical data as well as biomarker discovery.
  • Strong coding proficiency in R and Python, especially with regards to statistical packages, adaptation, development and deployment; comfortable working in Unix-based environments.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS preferred) and data infrastructure concepts such as pipelines, data lakes, and reproducibility best practices.
  • Proven ability to handle NGS and multi-omics data end-to-end, from raw data to insight, working with bulk RNA-seq, single-cell RNAseq, whole exome sequencing, spatial RNAseq and other as needed.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and leading interdisciplinary projects.
