What is the opportunity?
We are seeking an innovative and strategic Sr. Manager, Data Management and Governance to support CFO leadership in assessing and managing Information Management Risk. The role ensures a robust, authoritative fact based and analytic capabilities, to support the execution of the Enterprise Data Management and Reporting Policy. You will help develop and promote innovative strategies, roadmaps, architectural guidelines, standards and best practices for the evolving financial data and its governance within CFO. Role will provide thought leadership in researching and architecting best in class Data Governance practices to ensure Finance Critical Data Assets are appropriately managed.

What is the opportunity?
We are seeking an innovative and strategic Sr. Manager, Data Management and Governance to support CFO leadership in assessing and managing Information Management Risk. The role ensures a robust, authoritative fact based and analytic capabilities, to support the execution of the Enterprise Data Management and Reporting Policy. You will help develop and promote innovative strategies, roadmaps, architectural guidelines, standards and best practices for the evolving financial data and its governance within CFO. Role will provide thought leadership in researching and architecting best in class Data Governance practices to ensure Finance Critical Data Assets are appropriately managed.
What will you do?
- Oversee adherence to Enterprise Data Management Framework, Policy & underlying standards through ongoing DM&G activities in partnership with CDO teams, RBC Data Domains and Information Risk Management teams
- Provide leadership and direction for integrating and rationalizing data design within RBC's Data Management Environment, promoting reuse and quality
- Provide technical leadership in data management: data modeling and db design, Data Lake Solution Architecture, data integration, data movement and replication, data quality, reference and master data management, data governance etc.
- Extend and promote the Finance Data Domain model across CFO platform; exercise influence and impact across the enterprise in promoting information management thought leadership
- Effectively communicate complex architectural strategies and directions to technical, business, and executive partners
- Promote the goals of data integration, data stewardship, data quality and governance
- Develop innovate and unorthodox approaches to develop a culture of Data Governance and empowering teams to leverage data responsibly
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- 6+ years of working experience and demonstrated skills in data management: data quality, reference and master data management, data governance, data modeling and db design, Big Data and DWE Solution Architecture, data integration, data movement and replication
- Knowledge of and experience in risk management practices including risk assessment, controls testing, Issues Management and independent review
- Experience with developing strategy documents, roadmaps, plans, socialize concepts, develop business cases, liaise with teams for planning and implementation
- Adaptability and ability to deal with ambiguity and to influence outcomes in a matrixed environment
