Position Description
The EV Design Coordinator will be responsible for managing and accelerating the design process for EV charging infrastructure projects. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality, efficiency, and timely design execution, directly contributing to improved cash flow, profitability, and project success.
This is a remote position; however, candidates will be required to visit job sites as needed, primarily in California.

Traveling Requirements: This position requires approximately 25 percent overnight travel, primarily within Northern California, with occasional travel to Southern California. The company will cover all related travel expenses, including per-diem, transportation, and hotel accommodation. Advance notice will be provided for all travel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist and manage design efforts for EV charging infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and client specifications.
  • Develop and optimize project layouts using AutoCAD and other tools, integrating inputs from internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Support full project lifecycle from bid to closeout by enhancing design efficiency, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring alignment between plans and field conditions through site visits.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to provide design insights, implement modifications, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Coordinate and manage project execution across multiple sites, including budgeting, scheduling, and tracking key milestones and vendor deliverables.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and stakeholders, communicating updates, ensuring timely deliverables, and overseeing closeout activities including punch list resolution and final documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven experience in EV charging infrastructure design, construction, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design tools.
  • Strong understanding of utility management and electrical infrastructure.
  • Ability to work both independently (home office-based) and collaboratively with field teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in construction environments, with the ability to visit job sites as needed.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and other engineered plans
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer or desk-based setup in a home office environment.
  • Capability to travel to and move through construction and field job sites, which may involve walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs or ladders, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., equipment, plans, laptop, PPE).
  • Comfortable working in various outdoor conditions during site visits, including exposure to weather, dust, and noise.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, high-visibility vests, etc. when on site.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites across California and potentially other states.
Salary and Benefits
$70,000/yr. - $100,000/yr.
