We are looking for a talented CMEP - Senior Machining Quality Engineer - 1st Shift to join our team specializing in Quality in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Resolve Customer Issues: By managing corrective requests and leading containment activities, you'll ensure customer satisfaction and maintain strong relationships.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: You'll ensure products and processes meet both initial and long-term quality standards, adhering to industry requirements like IATF, APQP, and PPAP.
  • Support Change Management: By verifying products and processes during change management activities, you'll ensure key measures are met and provide data analysis for informed decision-making.
  • Lead Quality Audits: You'll support or lead quality audits, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in quality practices.
  • Technical Resource: Serving as a quality technical resource, you'll provide valuable expertise to other functional areas, enhancing overall team performance.
  • Mentor Team Members: By coaching and mentoring less experienced team members, you'll foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Leading continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional partners, you'll utilize methodologies like lean manufacturing and 7-step problem solving to achieve defect-free processes.
  • Safe Launch Initiatives: Supporting Safe Launch initiatives through VPI, you'll ensure new products meet quality standards from the start, contributing to successful product introductions.

Qualifications

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
  • Demonstrated role competence is required.
  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject or experience equivalent is required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:
  • Intermediate level of experience required.
  • Preferably 3-5 years' experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Program Management role in the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related manufacturing or quality experience required

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Lead meetings to drive process improvement with cross functional teams.
  • Manage NCM and scrap inventories and drive changes
  • Help direct reports develop and grow

Additional Skills/Qualifications:
  • Experience with GD&T
  • Data analysis and capability studies
