Description:

Murad is currently looking for a Manager, Procurement responsible for leading procurement activities at Murad, ensuring the strategic sourcing and cost-effective purchasing of goods and services. This position supports the company's operational goals by maintaining strong supplier relationships, driving cost savings, and optimizing the procurement process. The Manager will be directly involved in negotiations, supplier performance reviews, and managing the entire procurement lifecycle from cost feasibility to final business award.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply planning, demand planning, quality control, and inventory management, mitigate risks, streamline operations, and support Murad's product launches and annual targets. With a focus on continuous improvement, this individual will proactively seek cost-saving opportunities and work towards enhancing supply chain efficiency while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Procurement Strategy & Sourcing
  • Develop and execute RFPs/RFQs with suppliers to achieve the target cost of goods, and lead contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to identify and engage profitable suppliers, aligning procurement activities with Murad's business objectives and ensuring high-quality, timely delivery.
  • Maintain responsibility for costs from feasibility to final business award, providing detailed analysis and collaborating with teams (e.g., Marketing) for evaluation and approval. Monitor and control procurement budgets to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce expenses without compromising quality.

Supplier & Relationship Management
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, managing supplier performance through quarterly reviews and ensuring consistent quality. Act as a liaison for supplier contracts and manage any potential sourcing risks or discrepancies.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities across the supply chain, review the cost of goods (COGs) for innovation and PIPO projects, and analyze and address cost discrepancies.

Risk & Cost Management
  • Develop and implement procedures to mitigate potential risks, such as supply shortages, and escalate sourcing risks with proposed solutions and timelines for resolution.
  • Review monthly Purchase Price Variance (PPV) reports, break down key findings, and proactively reduce PPVs. Manage the monthly update of the Master Price List and Bracket Pricing Dashboard.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., supply planning, demand planning, QC, inventory control) to ensure procurement activities align with overall business goals and support project launches, innovation, and annual targets.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and market conditions, providing regular reports and recommendations to management to inform strategic decision-making.

Leadership & Development
  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.


REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the beauty/cosmetic or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries.
  • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms and pricing.
  • Excellent analytical abilities, with experience in data analysis and market research to inform procurement decisions.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software; experience with Oracle is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • In-depth understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset focused on cost control, risk mitigation, and improving supply chain efficiency.
  • Experience in contract management and legal compliance related to procurement activities.

This position is based in our El Segundo, CA headquarters, which is currently 40% hybrid onsite/remote work.

The expected base salary for this position is $135,000 to $145,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors, including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.
