Annuities and Insurance Central Review Unit - AVP
Morgan Stanley is currently seeking candidates for a Risk Principal position to join the Annuities and Insurance Central Review Unit (AICRU). In this capacity, the Risk Principal(s) will work closely with their peers and Regional Supervisors, interact regularly with Financial Advisors (FAs), Branch Managers and Complex Risk Officers to ensure compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and resolution of issues. They will also partner with the Firm's internal Insured Solutions Directors, Insurance Sales Desk Specialists and working group colleagues in Legal, Risk, Compliance, Platform, Operations and Technology as needed.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

- Performing product and know your client (KYC) appropriateness reviews of all proposed annuities and life insurance new business transactions, replacement transactions, and required documentation
- Verify policy information for replacement transactions by calling the insurance carrier(s) for relinquishing contract(s) and ensuring ticket accuracy and completeness
- Review insurance transactions for appropriateness and compliance with NYS Reg 60 and 187 and Private Placement transactions
- Communicate regularly with FAs and branch, and collaborate with Complex Risk Officers (CROs) and Insurance Solution Directors (ISDs) as needed to review any requests requiring enhanced due diligence or alternative solutions
- Prior Risk, Compliance, Audit or Sales experience in Annuities and Life Insurance and/or branch supervision
- Proficient understanding of areas of regulatory focus and business goals
- Strong organizational, planning and time management skills to triage competing priorities in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communicative and persuasion skills
- Required Education and Licenses:
- Active FINRA & State Licenses: Series 7, 63 and Life & Health Insurance License required
- Series 9/10 (or 24) preferred or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire
- An undergraduate degree
