Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an experienced Antibody Discovery Scientist to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to discover both tool & therapeutic antibodies using state-of-the-art in vivo and in vitro approaches. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of hands-on experience making antibodies and will set high standards for effective execution and rigorous thinking. A deep knowledge of antibody-based discovery and optimization/engineering approaches. You will use in vivo discovery, single B cell cloning and in vitro platforms to effectively mine antibody repertoires. In this role, recognizing and streamlining the most efficient work processes is key. It demands a high level of drive and motivation to not only achieve but surpass team and program objectives. Active engagement within the team and collaboration across groups are important for reaching optimal performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Extensive experience in antibody discovery with both in vivo and in vitro discovery approaches
Extensive hands-on experience with DNA library design and construction, particularly with immune and affinity maturation libraries
Proficient with various display technologies such as phage, yeast or mammalian display
Skilled in library selection strategies. Experience with cell-based panning is a plus
Experience sorting antigen-specific memory B cells by FACS. Perform single-cell RT-PCR, PCR, molecular cloning, and BCR sequence analysis for antibody discovery
Experience with NGS and BCR repertoire analysis
Use surface plasmon resonance (SPR) to measure antibody kinetics and epitope binning
Analyze experimental data and prepare detailed reports and presentations
Extensive knowledge of B-cell immunology and antibody development
Work with cross-functional teams and contribute to project planning and strategy
Accountable for efficiently allocating team resources to ensure timely and effective progression of programs, with the potential to oversee and train more junior colleagues.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or a related field. Master's degree with 8-10+ years of experience. Bachelor's degree with 10-12+ years of experience
Experience with antibody humanization techniques
Experience with FACS. We currently use a SONY cell sorter
Knowledgeable about sequence liabilities and antibody developability assessment
Experience making & validating antibodies specifically for IHC
Familiarity with data analysis software and statistical tools (e.g., FlowJo, SnapGene, Biacore, and GraphPad Prism)
An innovative, non-hierarchical approach that emphasizes approachability
Highly collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills essential for engaging with internal teams, ensuring high efficiency and transparency, and facilitating swift decision making
Strong presentation skills with the ability to present to both internal and external collaborators
