Join J.P. Morgan Wealth Management as the Chief Risk Officer, a pivotal role for a seasoned executive to lead and enhance the risk management framework for our U.S. Wealth Management division. This business unit integrates Chase Wealth Management, J.P. Morgan Advisors, National Branch, and Online Investing, collectively overseeing $1 trillion in assets. You will be part of a team of 5,800 advisors across 4,800 branches, driving strategic initiatives and ensuring robust risk oversight. Job summary:

As a Managing Director in the U.S. Wealth Management Risk Team, you will spearhead a team dedicated to safeguarding our business. You will develop and implement strategic risk management initiatives that align with our corporate goals. Your role will involve providing comprehensive risk assessments for new business initiatives and digital product offerings. You will act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, representing the risk management perspective across all facets of our business. Job responsibilities:
  • Spearhead a team of risk professionals dedicated to safeguarding the U.S. Wealth Management business.
  • Develop and implement strategic risk management initiatives.
  • Ensure robust oversight of fiduciary controls, sales practices, and credit risk; including vigilant monitoring of key metrics.
  • Provide comprehensive risk assessments for new business initiatives and digital product offerings, ensuring proactive threat identification and mitigation.
  • Co-chair the U.S. Wealth Management Risk Committee alongside the CEO, ensuring effective governance structures and risk coverage.
  • Facilitate collaboration with cross-functional risk teams.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, representing the risk management perspective across all facets of the U.S. Wealth Management business.
  • Offer insightful risk management counsel to senior leadership, guiding strategic decisions with a holistic view of enterprise risk..

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Minimum of 15 years in the banking industry, with current experience at the Managing Director level or equivalent.
  • Proven track record in risk, compliance, or audit within a major financial services firm, with a focus on wealth management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a history of building collaborative relationships.
  • Strong executive presence and communication prowess capable of engaging diverse audiences, including business leaders and regulators.
  • Possess a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, adept at managing shifting priorities
  • Self-driven with a high degree of initiative and accountability.
  • Skilled in attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
