About The Role

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager position will provide guidance on manufacturing engineering policies, practices, and programs designed to increase plant productivity and reduce costs through improved production methods and optimum utilization of equipment, manpower, and materials. This position will provide process and engineering leadership for manufacturability and contribute to the improvement of the safety, quality, delivery, and cost of the operation through applying engineering principles and lean manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and evaluate manufacturing processes, systems, equipment, and materials in terms of their associated cost, time, safety, ergonomic, and quality and recommend and implement solutions to improve.
  • Coordinate the analysis of time studies, methods, process engineering, and plant layout to ensure balanced processes and implement process improvements for all gaps identified.
  • Plan and direct specific production studies to ensure full utilization of facilities and equipment and improve flow of materials and information within the factory and office areas.
  • Assist the operations management in the capacity analysis activity to ensure adequate manpower, machinery, and methods are available to meet customer demands.
  • Direct the process of the implementation of engineering change notices and deviations pertaining to manufactured and purchased components.
  • Participate in kaizen events for continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Design and coordinate the build of tools and fixtures to assist in the welding processes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Develop and monitor the budget for the Manufacturing Engineering Department.


Candidate Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Agricultural or Engineering related field with minimum 5 years' experience or Bachelor's degree with 9 years' experience and advanced leadership training. AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience preferred, as well as Lean Manufacturing experience with Green or Black Belt training or certification.
