Key Responsibilities
AI-Driven Engineering & Modernization
- Oversee end-to-end cloud and AI-powered modernization projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget execution and client success
- Embed AI-driven practices into project lifecycles (MLOps, LLM integration, DevOps automation)
- Champion the integration of AI and GenAI innovations into business processes and product offerings to maintain a competitive edge and create scalable solutions
- Translate AI-first innovations into scalable, enterprise-ready solutions and capabilities
- Develop standardized and repeatable AI-powered modernization offerings
- Establish best practices to embed AI across development teams, enhance tooling, and accelerate time to market."
Global Delivery & Operational Excellence
- Optimize a mix of nearshore and offshore talent, having oversight of talent and project success across globally distributed teams
- Foster a collaborative and effective global team culture, ensuring cohesion across diverse regions including North America, Europe, and Asia
- Optimize delivery costs, benchmarking cost per engineer, project margins, and efficiency gains
Partner Ecosystem & Technical Governance
- Ensure engineering teams obtain and maintain advanced certifications with partners including Azure, Google Cloud, and other strategic partners
- Drive technical integration of AI/ML models with partner ecosystems, ensuring co-sell alignment and maximizing Market Development Fund utilization
- Implement technical governance frameworks to enforce security, quality, and AI-first engineering best practices
Security, Infrastructure & Compliance
- Lead IT security and compliance across all nearshore delivery locations, aligning with leading security provider and hyperscaler security frameworks
Talent Development & Team Performance
- Partner with HR to hire and upskill for AI/cloud engineering roles, ensuring team expertise in GenAI, DevSecOps, cloud-native engineering, and automation
- Drive a structured career growth framework to attract and retain high-caliber engineers in global delivery centres
Key Success Metrics
- Client Satisfaction & Retention: Repeat business, long-term engagements, renewal rates, and sustained client references for AI-driven solutions.
- Project Delivery KPIs: Percentage of projects meeting on-time and on-budget targets, AI feature adoption in client deliverables.
- Engineering Culture & Talent Development: employee and project NPS scores, growth and promotion of team members, engineering thought leadership, tech and innovation awards.
- Global Delivery Talent Optimization Strategy & Cost Efficiency for Engineering team: optimize expansion of nearshore/offshore teams, efficiency gains, and cost optimization from global delivery strategies.
- Partner Certification & Adoption: Team certifications achieved, successful partner technology deployments. Partner co-sell success.
- IT & Security Compliance: Achievement of security benchmarks, adherence to compliance regulations, and overall IT infrastructure reliability.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 15+ years in software engineering, with increasing leadership responsibility and at least 5 years in a senior engineering leadership role (Director/VP level) at a high-growth technology company or consulting firm.
- Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture and modern development practices across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Demonstrated ability to scale engineering organizations globally, including leading remote-first and distributed teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.
- Proven success in optimizing a follow-the-sun global delivery model to ensure 24/7 delivery coverage and responsiveness.
- Strong background in building and leading agile, high-performance engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and career development.
- Committed to building a world-class, people-first engineering culture. Promotes trust, transparency, innovation, empowerment, and continuous learning.
- Track record of delivery excellence in enterprise consulting or professional services, with an ability to manage multiple programs and stakeholders.
- Experience building and launching complex cloud-based applications, platforms, or systems for Fortune 500 clients.
- Hands-on experience deploying AI and GenAI in production-across platform engineering, test automation, and intelligent application design.
- Strong business and financial acumen; ability to align engineering priorities with strategic objectives, budgets, and client value.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills-must be able to work cross-functionally with Sales, Delivery, Product, and Client teams.
- Demonstrates empathy and strong interpersonal skills, with a commitment to team development and long-term career growth.
- Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment with a focus on quality, velocity, and continuous improvement.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience leading or transforming a global engineering organization using a "build-operate-transfer" model or similar partnership frameworks.
- Prior experience integrating AI-driven quality assurance frameworks, CI/CD, and DevSecOps into production engineering environments.
- Exposure to design systems, digital product development, and modern front-end/backend architecture patterns.
- Experience working with or managing vendors in nearshore/offshore regions (LATAM, Asia-Pacific)
- Knowledge of contracting, IP management, and engineering compliance in cross-border delivery models.
- Familiarity with Canadian and U.S. enterprise procurement processes and vendor ecosystems.
- MBA or advanced technical degree.
