About the role
The Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer responsibilities include managing and maintaining all aspects of the existing Linux environment. Including lead engineer on new Linux-based application deployments, lead engineer on Linux infrastructure platform changes, evaluating and recommending new technologies, implementing system security best practices, and expanding hybrid cloud environment.
Experience with Oracle Cloud required.

Pay Range
$135,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
- Complete lifecycle management of all Linux platforms, including provisioning (on-premises or cloud-based), configuration management, performance tuning, security patching, software deployment, documentation and deprovisioning.
- Analyze and execute configuration and audit strategies to assist in ensuring compliance with standard settings and security direction.
- Implement, maintain, remediate, and troubleshoot server and storage platform technologies.
- Conduct research and development to drive innovation and propose new technology.
- Support the operational posture of the Enterprise server and interconnections to attached storage (NAS, SAN, or cloud equivalents).
- Action incident, change, and request cases submitted to the Linux team through resolution.
- Implement and manage Linux servers within public cloud platforms, i.e. Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS and Oracle Cloud.
- Implement and manage Linux servers within on prem environments, including VMware and HPE/DELL servers
- Linux environment automation and security.
- Administer and support the Linux printing environment.
- Primary Linux administrator supporting the Oracle EBS team and Oracle EBS applications.
- Participate in the development and execution of scripts executed by the Linux team.
- Implement system backups, backup monitoring and application restore testing.
- Monitor and correct critical server/storage issues and processes.
- Project Management and Implementation, Customer Service, Computer/Network Maintenance and Support, Storage Consulting, Design and Implementation, Network Security, and Disaster Recovery.
- Participate in after hours on-call rotation for critical support issues.
Qualifications
- Dynamic interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
- Demonstrable vendor management skills
- Ability to prioritize, respond to and follow through on multiple customer requests in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects teams simultaneously.
Education & Experience
- BS/BA Degree in Information Technology / Management
- Minimum 8 years of verifiable advanced Linux networking, server, storage and virtualization experience, including performing server, installs and maintenance without assistance, and file system management.
- Linux certifications a plus
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle Cloud solutions including: OCI, OCVS, DBCS, etc
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Linux platforms and supporting environments, Oracle Linux Manager, Oracle Management Hub, and ansible.
- Architecting Linux infrastructure supporting critical Oracle application environments, IE EBS
- Deep understanding of VMware vSphere
- All aspects of designing, planning, implementing, automating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting a global Linux environment, including Oracle Enterprise & RHEL platforms
- Plan and execute complex projects including Linux platform migrations, enterprise storage migrations, network re-design, hybrid cloud/data center re-architecture and disaster recovery.
- At least 5 years of verifiable project implementation experience for midsize and enterprise businesses
- Strong in most common and popular networking technologies as well as some of the more mature ones.
- Strong technical aptitudes, backed by at least 5 years of hardcore in the trenches experience, powerful communicator and a person who can manage and execute well under strict deadlines.

- 10% overall; may be significantly higher during the duration of a project.
