Job Description
Senior Project Manager - Transformation Management Office
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager for the Transformation Management Office (TMO). The TMO provides direction, oversight, and coordination of transformation initiatives across the enterprise.
Role Overview:
- Lead complex, cross-functional projects aligned with MSK's strategic goals, ranging from departmental initiatives to enterprise-wide transformation programs.
- Serve as a trusted partner to project and executive sponsors, bringing expertise in project and change management.
- Drive all phases of the project lifecycle: from chartering and planning through execution, change adoption, and sustainability.
- Outline project requirements, dependencies, risks, and resources to address all components needed for a successful implementation.
- Apply best practice project and change management methodologies to develop roadmaps, manage resources, mitigate risks, and ensure successful delivery on time and within scope.
- Facilitate recurring check-ins for project team members, committee meetings, and reporting updates for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Effectively implement change management processes, support process owner and operations staff, and deliver communication to all relevant stakeholders.
- Mentor and coach junior project managers while providing indirect oversight to internal and external teams; lead by example to foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on results and stakeholder experience.
- 4+ years of experience in project or program management, ideally in a healthcare organization
- Strong foundation in project management methodology and application, including principles, tools and techniques (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid).
- Hands-on experience in strategic planning; risk management and change management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Cognos).
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Passion for and dedication to MSK's mission.
- Ability to lead/manage others and oversee the timely and successful completion of large-scale and/or multiple projects.
- Demonstrated leadership and the ability to influence without authority while managing large-scale projects.
- Highly self-motivated and proactive, proven to lead and facilitate group dynamics across diverse teams.
- Exceptional communicator both in written and verbal communication; excellent business writing skills and ability to develop and deliver effective presentations for various audiences.
- Skilled in building strong relationships at all organizational levels, with demonstrated expertise in consensus building, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
- Demonstrated ability to define a change management strategy across multi-disciplinary stakeholder groups at all levels within a highly matrixed organization
- A growth mindset with a passion for learning, always seeking new ways to improve skills, processes, and project outcomes.
- Thrives in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, maintaining focus on goals while flexibly adjusting plans as needed.
- Proficient in gathering, analyzing, and documenting complex business and system process flows at institutional and departmental levels.
- High level of diplomacy, patience, adaptability, and flexibility.
- Location: 633 Third Avenue, in midtown Manhattan
- Schedule: 9 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday (hybrid)
- Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Project Management
