Compensation Range:

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE
Under minimal supervision, responsible for service on the following types of imaging systems/equipment: dental x-ray, portable x-ray, ultrasound, x-ray film developers, computed radiography equipment, film printers and C-arms. Under general supervision, is responsible for service on the following types of imaging systems/equipment: radiographic/fluoroscopic, chest x-ray, mammography, nuclear medicine, angio/cath, lithotripter and direct radiographic systems. Involves preventive maintenance, safety inspection, calibration, installing, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electromechanical and electronic imaging devices. Services equipment in both the hospital environment as well as at numerous offsite locations. Works in close proximity to patients and staff in emergency rooms, interventional radiographic procedure rooms, cardiac cath rooms and in the operating room settings. Interfaces with all the members of the Clinical Engineering team effectively.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performs safety/preventive maintenance inspections on clinical imaging equipment to determine operational status and compliance with manufacturers and industry technical standards and specifications.
  • Performs calibrations and performance verifications on clinical imaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, isolates equipment malfunctions and repairs clinical imaging equipment.
  • Responds to operator complaints about clinical Imaging equipment malfunctions.
  • Performs equipment modifications when instructions, diagrams, prints, or schematics are provided for technical guidance.
  • Maintains electronic medical equipment management database files for compliance with departmental and accreditation requirements.
  • General imaging on-call responsibility.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or GED and 1 year of directly related experience in a hospital or health care setting or equivalent training and experience in the military, biomedical and imaging areas required
  • Associate's degree in Electronic or Instrumentation Technology with particular focus on Biomedical Engineering Technology preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Advanced networking and system integrations preferred
  • Ability to read schematics and mechanical diagrams preferred


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State with means of transportation to service offsite locations upon hire required
