Provides technical leadership and direction to Database, Server and Storage Administrators. Responsible for effective and efficient Data Center operations. Works closely with other Infrastructure teams to maintain a complex infrastructure environment that is stable and reliable, and meets the continually evolving needs of the organization and the changes in technology to support enterprise growth and the development of new educational opportunities.

What You'll Do:
  • Possess the technical expertise to provide leadership and manage the design and development of all core data systems(servers, storage and database).
  • Ensure the design and installation of database management system applications and establishment of the appropriate linkages to existing database applications and to other data processing systems.
  • Ensure the development of a backup and recovery scheme for all core data systems including the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuance procedures.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the team including Database Administrators, System Administrators, Storage Administrators and computer operators.
  • Hire, train, mentor and evaluate team members to ensure adequate resources in advance of need.
  • Prepare annual budget requirements for hardware and software needs for assigned functional area.
  • Provide translation of information from highly technical staff to non-technical staff.
  • Provide direction and guidance to multiple employee teams including Database Administration, Systems and Storage Administration, and Computer Operations to ensure recognized path for professional growth and development.
  • Assist with the evaluation of new hardware and software that aligns with organizational goals and new initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field is required. Equivalent experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Typically has seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience including managing team(s) responsible for technical services for hardware/software engineering, support and maintenance database, server and storage in LAN/WAN and multi-platform environments.
  • Five (5) years of experience working on mission critical systems.
  • Five (5) years technical lead and/or project management experience. Experience handling confidential information with a high degree of integrity.
  • Skillful attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven experience and skills to quickly learn new systems and applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting, isolating and diagnosing problems.
  • Experience leading a fast-paced IT team.
  • Strong personnel management and development skills; experience assembling teams of software engineers including hiring, coaching, developing, setting objectives, giving performance feedback and performing salary reviews.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
