Location: Wood Dale, IL
Type: Full-Time | On-site

Salary: $130k-$140k/yr

Position Summary:

The Controller will support the CFO in overseeing all accounting operations and ensuring the integrity of financial data across the organization. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the accounting department, driving process improvements, and delivering strategic financial analysis that supports corporate initiatives and decision-making.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum 7 years of accounting and financial reporting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 4 years of supervisory experience in an accounting leadership role
  • Strong background in month-end and year-end closing, financial statement preparation, and audit coordination
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting, financial reporting, and manufacturing systems
  • Proven ability to evaluate and streamline accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy


Core Responsibilities:

Accounting Oversight & Reporting:
  • Supervise the daily operations of the accounting team including G/L, A/P, A/R, credit and collections, payroll, invoicing, and sales tax compliance
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes in accordance with the corporate closing calendar
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements using account reconciliations and trend analysis
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies

Process Improvement & Analysis:
  • Monitor departmental workflows and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Review costing exception reports daily and resolve discrepancies between inventory receipts and A/P inputs
  • Analyze and explain key variances in labor, productivity, and inventory balances
  • Provide data-driven insights to support CFO reporting needs

Cash Management & Payroll:
  • Oversee daily cash management activities and forecasting
  • Process confidential payroll transactions and ensure accurate reporting
  • Administer 401(k) transactions via Fidelity and support annual Form 5500 preparation and audit
