Job Description
The successful candidate will be a key member of our R&D, Quality & Compliance leadership team, responsible for managing our testing technician team, overseeing laboratory facilities, and providing critical technical insights to our R&D, Quality, manufacturing and sales teams.

Job Description
The successful candidate will be a key member of our R&D, Quality & Compliance leadership team, responsible for managing our testing technician team, overseeing laboratory facilities, and providing critical technical insights to our R&D, Quality, manufacturing and sales teams.

WHEN YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL
- Initiate, monitor and assign technician support for R&D/Quality projects.
- Review, analyze and approve R&D/Quality test results.
- Review and approve lab testing for customer complaints and claims.
- Collect information for the development of new products, specifications and
- processes.
- Monitor the quality impact of new production processes, methods, or equipment.
- Manage and upgrade (as needed) testing lab facilities, including the preventative maintenance, repair, and calibration of existing lab instruments, selection and acquisition of new equipment and design/optimization of our laboratory footprint.
- Lead our laboratory health & safety program.
- Design and manage procedures, documentation and communication of results regarding plant KPIs related to quality.
- Other duties as assigned by the R&D/Quality leadership team.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Post-secondary education in a technical field; university degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role preferred. Significant supervisory training will be considered.
- Hands-on laboratory experience and knowledge of regulatory/standards bodies (e.g., UL, FM, ISO, ASTM, etc.) would also be assets
- Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills
- Good problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and data-driven decision making
- Effective time management skills resulting in consistently meeting deadlines and balancing changing priorities
- Energetic, self-motivated individual, capable of working in/leading cross-functional teams and who demonstrates values of integrity, respect for others and accountability
- Experience with reporting/interpreting data in spreadsheets/charts/graphs,
- proficient with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
