Role impact:

The Senior Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring projects meet and sustain their objectives by ensuring the collaborative design and adoption of renewed business processes. This role will provide highly experienced technical and professional expertise to lead the analysis of operational business processes through systemic techniques to drive enhancements and efficiencies into Cadillac Fairview's operations.

The Senior Project Manager will plan, manage and implement the program planning process and monitor the performance of successful project / program outcomes. This role partners and collaborates with peers and senior management in Information Technology, Change Management and Operations to ensure key stakeholders are continuously informed and project / program tasks are completed with total quality management, taking definitive steps to eliminate any gaps.

What you will deliver:

Process Management:

  • Responsible for examining business processes, evaluating them within the context of organizational goals and proposing changes or enhancements to help achieve those goals
  • Responsible for managing multiple, simultaneous projects autonomously, providing project/ process /change management and oversight during all project phases including pre and post go-live
  • Monitor business process performance and managing timelines/schedule to keep projects on track by prioritizing site activities and work load, ensuring linkages/interdependencies with other projects are regarded
  • Identify performance gaps, issues and barriers as well as track, manage issue logs and work through resolution
  • Responsible to manage timelines and keep projects on track, ensuring that linkages/interdependencies with other projects are regarded.
  • Create and may lead the implementation of innovative business process solutions to long-term issues within the project / program
  • Manage the process life cycle and process improvement initiatives by facilitating cross-organizational meetings to build renewed business processes that support the adherence of others to, and implementation of initiatives and programs
  • Design, develop and implement highly complex process flows in collaboration with multiple teams
  • Act as a mediator between stakeholders and team members


Project Management:

In collaboration with initiative owners and project managers, as appropriate:

  • Lead project development from initiation to closure
  • Facilitate and collaborate cross-functionally to support the program planning process, and schedule development
  • Work with initiative owner, project manager and stakeholders to complete and maintain work breakdown structure to estimate effort required for each task; RACI document outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timing
  • Direct and coordinate resources through all initiatives and conduct regular program reviews to make sure that program development stays on track
  • Facilitate milestone meetings and other meetings critical to the progress of the Operations initiatives; track and report on Initiative milestones and build appropriate management presentations
  • Document and create project presentations, capturing outcomes and findings for management review.


Change Management:

  • In collaboration with Change Management team, as appropriate:
    • Evaluate the change risk to all projects in scope, identifying and mitigating those risks that present a significant threat to project outcomes
    • Create change management plans that align to overall project schedule, budget and success metrics
    • Identify critical stakeholders to the project and assess their support level and concerns. Create and implement strategies to proactively manage anticipated resistance
    • Build and implement communication strategy that creates two-way information flow to the business
    • Manage business stakeholders for integration of key change plans, commitments and changes to ensure sponsorship


What your strengths are:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in successfully delivering large, complex transformation projects.
  • Ability to effectively lead a diverse group of internal/external resources and consultants through large complex projects.
  • Good understanding of procurement practices and experience with procurement technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, change management, risk management, and the ability to manage multiple projectssimultaneously.
  • Report writing skills and proven ability to communicate and present to all levels of management.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project or other projectmanagement software.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player with strong customer service orientation.
  • High computer literacy. Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro, Google Docs, MicrosoftProject.


What you need to succeed:

  • University Degree in a related field, including Business
  • Successful track record and minimum 8 years in leading process improvement and change initiatives
  • Experience and knowledge of process improvement mapping, project management and change management principles and methodologies e.g. Six Sigma/LEAN
  • Strong project management skills, demonstrated ability to structure and plan work to deliver the right results on time and on budget
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship building skills; ability to cultivate and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Strong facilitation, presentation and coaching skills with the ability to ask questions and engage others in meaningful discussions
  • PMP license is an asset
