As a member of the Industrial segment staff, you will be an active contributor to the development and execution the quality roadmap, deliverables for the segment and its leaders, SQDC improvements through problem solving, and coaching.

This role will require you drive quality improvements for the segment using Quality Improvement and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

This a key leadership role for the industrial segment, interfacing with the segment leadership, the wider Steam Power Quality organizations, and associated functions to improve the customer experience, reduce cost of poor quality, and drive operational improvements.

  • Executes the GE Vernova / Steam Power lean system within your area of responsibility and provide 'voice of customer' feedback for improvement.
  • Coach, facilitate, and drive maturity in the segment Operating Review process and execution.
  • Lead implementation of Daily Management and Problem Solving in the segment.
  • Deliver process improvements that drive customer outcomes, TTI/KPI and leadership behaviors.
  • Drive continuous improvement across Safety/Quality/Delivery/Cost for our customers and the business.
  • Create and drive operating rhythms around customer facing metrics (e.g. Cx, NCRs, COPQ) including trend analysis and improvement plans for Field Services, Repairs, Parts, and Engineering Services for the Segment.
  • People leader for a team of quality managers; recruit, develop, and retain the team.
  • Provide operation support for customer meetings, suppliers, factories, and project teams to ensure we maintain the required levels of quality.
  • Drive resolution of quality issues, fronting to customers and suppliers where required and utilizing internal organization to support resolution and prevention.
  • Ensure all field related preparation and execution activities are compliant with customer quality requirements, implementing and applying lessons learned proactively between outages.
  • Partner across the Industrial team, serve as a change agent in institutionalizing Lean methodologies to drive simplification and customer responsiveness.
  • Partner with the global quality team on QMS development, deployment, and auditing (internal and external). Partner with the Lean Organization on methodologies, tools and behaviors.
  • Support the development of a Communication and Learning Plan to seek, share, and implement best practices to drive a learning organization.
  • Apply Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Lean methodologies to improve process capability and eliminate defects.
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional project teams to drive standardization and simplification wing to-wing process. This includes providing change leadership (Change Acceleration Process) methods and tools across assigned critical business initiatives. Communicate teams' progress to Business Leaders
  • Serve as a key staff member within the SP team supporting and shaping the overall region strategy and leading cross functional initiatives.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Organizational Effectiveness, or related technical discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in leading/coaching teams within a manufacturing, supply chain, services, engineering, or commercial process environments, preferably within the power generation industry.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience within a operation, quality or Lean role


Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to teach and implement the Systematic Approach to Lean at GE.
  • Strong business and quality acumen, demonstrates and drives accountability.
  • Strong, proven previous leadership capabilities leading both Quality and Operations with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems, Technical Regulations and Standards
  • The ideal candidate is a change agent, able to make the case for lean and demonstrate immediate impact.
  • Comfortable with conflict and debate normally associated with change.
  • Practitioner and / or expert of Lean practices. Deep understanding TQM.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organizations outside; to include customers.
  • Engages the staff to contribute/lead as one team.
  • Creates a climate in which people are motivated and engaged to help the organization achieve its objectives.
  • Ability to lead, influence, motivate and coach diverse teams to achieve a unified goal.


The salary range for this position is $123,700 to $150,000 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a 15% performance bonus.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
