Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

Join our dynamic Software Security Engineering group, where you'll be at the forefront of developing and enabling platform and content security features across the software stack, including device drivers, firmware, and application-level interfaces. Our team supports the entire range of AMD products, including APUs, CPUs, and GPUs, enabling customers to build competitive solutions.

As a member of the Discrete GPU Platform Firmware Operations group, you'll engage in various aspects of the firmware architecture life cycle, driving the enablement of platform-centric features across a wide range of AMD products. This role focuses on the development of embedded firmware and graphics/multimedia drivers, offering a collaborative environment where you'll interact with cross-functional teams and contribute to innovative solutions.

We are looking for a proactive and collaborative individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for technology. You should be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of driving technical discussions within a broad domain of firmware groups. Your ability to coordinate and debug critical firmware issues will be essential, as will your engagement with customer engineering teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the firmware representative for the respective SOC program in AMD cross-organizational meetings.
  • Act as the firmware Point of Contact (PoC) and drive technical discussions within the firmware domain.
  • Drive and coordinate the debugging of critical severity firmware-centric defects/issues.
  • Engage with Kicker SKUs and customer engineering teams as the firmware PoC.
  • Review requests to add new requirements after the program plan exit phase.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Development Lifecycles: Proficiency in managing software, firmware, and hardware development lifecycles.
  • Architecture Design: Expertise in software, firmware, SOC, and IP design and architecture.
  • Embedded Systems and Security: Skilled in developing embedded systems and implementing platform security measures.
  • Power and Memory Management: Experience in optimizing power management solutions and managing memory systems.
  • Communication Protocols and Virtualization: Knowledgeable in low-level communication protocols and utilizing SR-IOV and virtualization technologies.


ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
