From the underwriters to claims representatives, the focus is strictly on property and inland marine coverages. They are dedicated to writing only these coverages, which include: Commercial Property Coverage, Inland Marine Coverage, Builder's Risk, Contractor's Equipment and Motor Truck Cargo. Our Property & Inland Marine Division is looking for a Senior Production Underwriter to join their team. The ideal candidate would be able to work a hybrid schedule out of Syracuse, NY office OR our Parsippany, NJ office.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Evaluates and underwrites new and renewal business in accordance with Company underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
• Analyzes risk data to make informed decisions on coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Collaborates with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to obtain necessary information and clarify details.
• Orders and evaluates additional reports and screens, such as motor vehicle reports, loss history reports, outside inspections, etc., to inform decisions.
• Ensures proper documentation of underwriting decisions and compliance with state and federal insurance regulations.
• Evaluates existing policies for potential renewal or modification.
• Communicates underwriting decisions clearly and effectively to internal teams, agents, and brokers.
• Stays updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.
• Develops and maintains effective business relationships with internal and external customers/coworkers, focusing on generating new business and retaining profitable business.
• Interprets, explains, and promotes products and services to drive market growth.
• Leverages advanced marketing techniques to interpret, explain, and promote the Company's products to brokers and agents.
• Monitors market trends and competition to identify opportunities for product enhancements and marketing strategies.
• Organizes and participates in marketing initiatives, including presentations, industry events, and broker/agent meetings to showcase products and services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Generally, a minimum of 5 years of experience in Underwriting or a related field. Continuing progress toward and/or the completion of a professional designation preferred, such as Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Program in General Insurance (INS), Associate of Risk Management (ARM), or a marketing designation. Familiarity with digital marketing strategies and tools is beneficial.
• Scope of Job/Qualifications: Performs work under general supervision and technical direction. Familiar with moderately complex concepts, practices and procedures. Works with authority on assignments of moderate technical complexity. Maintains strong knowledge of company policies and industry laws and regulations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrates strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Strong negotiation and decision-making ability. Position requires occasional travel.

Salary Range:
$97,000.00 -$120,000.00
