We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager of Communications to lead internal and external communications at 123Dentist. In addition to overseeing internal communications, and public relations, this role will be responsible for the management and growth of My123, our internal community app, as well as the successful launch, positioning and development of Smile Talk, our official podcast.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications, media relations, and digital engagement, with a passion for building community and enhancing brand reputation. This role requires leadership, creativity, and a results-driven mindset to drive engagement across multiple channels.

The role reports into VP Marketing, will sit on the Marketing Leadership team, and will manage cross-functional project teams and external PR and podcast agency partners.

Your Day-to-Day at 123Dentist:

Internal Communications

• Accountable to develop and execute an internal communications strategy that fosters engagement, alignment, and promotes the company culture.
• Collaborate with HR and senior leadership to ensure effective communication of company updates, initiatives, and values.
• Own the management of our internal newsletter (SmileScoop), announcements, and executive communications.
• Collaborate closely with Central Operations to develop and implement strategies to communicate effectively with operations teams, office managers and frontline dental teams across 123Dentist clinics.
• Collaborate with the executive team to define a partner engagement strategy with relevant communications delivered in a timely and engaging manner.
• Define and maintain the 123 Brand Tone of Voice and ensure compliance across all functions and communications.
• Define the optimal ecosystem of tools to facilitate seamless engagement from all teams across the organization.

My123

• Take ownership, manage, grow and optimize My123, our internal community app, to drive adoption, usage, UX improvements, content quality and meaningful employee interactions.
• Create a clear vision for My123 and engage and inspire a cross-functional team to take the app to its highest possible level.
• Develop campaigns and communications aimed at creating maximum engagement and grow My123 to become the #1 communications channel for 123Dentist
• - Develop metrics and reporting mechanisms to measure engagement and impact.
• Continuously improve the effectiveness of My123 through feedback loops, analytics, and best practices.

External Communications & Public Relations

• Develop and execute a proactive media relations strategy to enhance 123Dentist's reputation.
• Manage our PR agency and create a proactive PR schedule, with a regular drumbeat of stories, aiming to raise the profile of 123Dentist and our SME in key industry, business and general publications.
• Identify and support the company's spokespersons, managing crisis communications and media inquiries when necessary.
• Oversee corporate messaging and branding across press releases, website content, and external publications.
• Support the Business Development team in communication strategies related to clinic acquisitions and new partner additions.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, industry associations, and external partners.
• Identify awards and recognition for 123Dentist to take part in and communicate its leadership position.

Content & Thought Leadership

• Oversee the Smile Talk Podcast, from concept development to launch and ongoing content strategy, ensuring it represents the 123Dentist brand values and projects deep and meaningful connections with participants
• Lead the production, distribution and activation strategies, working closely with marketing in creating outreach campaigns and dissemination through social media and other channels, to maximize reach and engagement.
• Develop scripts, interview questions, and promotional strategies for podcast episodes.
• Collaborate with executives and subject matter experts to position 123Dentist as a leader in the dental industry.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, public relations, or a related field.

• Proven experience managing internal communications platforms, apps, or employee engagement tools.
• Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics, ClickDimensions, Mailchimp and/or other CRM/CMS/Comms technologies a plus.
• Proven experience of building and engaging internal and external communities through social media, apps and other methods
• Experience in podcast production, hosting, or content development is a strong asset.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Ability to work at both strategic and hands-on levels, managing day-to-day execution while driving long-term vision.
• Experience in a multi-location or franchise-based organization is an asset.
• Bilingualism (English and French) a key asset
